With “Richtfeuer“ RANĂ returns at full force in collaboration with Breath Sun Bone Blood with their second full length album. The album’s title “Richtfeuer” translates to “Leading Fire” or “Beacon”, and that is exactly what this album does…. Leads us into the burning down of this world with the hope of building a better one.
Igis Osim Lara (feat. members from Death Bell and Sektarism) from Toulouse France join forces with Breath Sun Bone Blood for their second release entitled Walkersdenn Initiation. Deep swells of synthesizers mix with bells, reed instruments, and percussion invoking a trance inducing otherworldly experience. Beautiful, grounding, yet unnerving at the same time.
This is heavy deep dark ambient, ritualistic music. You can feel the veil between worlds thinning as one delves deep into the sonic well of these recordings.
Breath Sun Bone Blood is proud to offer the blackened crust split between Berlin’s Arde and Spanish pagan black metal horde Nakkiga.
The CD opens with three pummeling conceptual tracks by Nakkiga about the birth and passage of time… From the primal chaos to the ashes of the future. This is blackened crust/ black metal at its finest… Suffocating the listener with overwhelming blast beats and frenzied end of the world guitar picking. The songs careen and erupt in desperation as if the songs would explode into sheer chaos if their message were delivered any faster or more urgently. Brutal, dark and beautiful.
CD edition of 300 housed in triple gatefold eco wallets printed exclusively with metallic silver and black duotone offset. Inside spine and pocket flood in black.

“Today’s upload brings a storm of ice and snow to our channel! “Milk of the Wild” is the single for Night Beheaded debut, “Enter Earth”, out on the Breath Sun Bone Blood label on March 4th, and it brings a lot of the raw, freezing riffage of atmospheric black metal along with impressively hostile ambient moments – it’s like an evil younger sibling to WITTR or Falls of Rauros, almost droning in its intensity. Night Beheaded shows great promise from this song, and we can’t wait to hear the full album!“
Rising to meet the new dawn is Night Beheaded, an entity born from the ritualistic veils of the forest and one which lives in the transient glow of the coming day and the starlit pathways of the night. Originally from Oakland and now living in Berlin, sole member B.S.s. (Common Eider, King Eider and Curse All Kings) showcases ambient soundscapes heard on their other projects as well as injecting the cold, swirling winds of black metal into Enter Earth and its five immersive tracks. Routing Night Beheaded through jarring guitars and vocals that echo from the otherworld, the band’s debut is a stark and self-reflective journey into the darkness that seeks the glimmers of hope that lie tantalizingly out of reach.
“I” begins this voyage into the unknown through haunting gales and a voice distorted by time and energy. B.S.s. breathes life into Enter Earth via stirring guitars, rich organs and a spirited vocal delivery that encompasses heady screams and breathy incantations. As the album moves forward, we hear folkier elements in “II” and its gentle opening that belies the aggression soon to follow. Night Beheaded filter their pain through cyclic riffs that rise with potent grief, and where the album could tip over into wallowing, it turns to ambient textures to divine a new way of thinking. “III” and “IV” both use these structures to different but no less jolting effect, and as the tones of “VV” heed the coming end, Night Beheaded inhale the aura of magick and exhale the agony of the past, as if to change the future.
French musical legend Yan Arexis returns with the beautifully executed minimalist electronic foray, “Perdues” by Lingering Echoes. Arexis’s contributions to the French black metal scene with Sus Scrofa, and experimental music scene with IHAN date back to the late 80’s, and his current projects Stille Volke, Coume Oaurnede, Faction Senestre, and his impeccable curation of the L’homme Sauvage Festival, continue to remain vital and daring contributions in their respective genres. “Perdues” by Lingering Echoes offers a cold and desolate landscape of minimalist electronics mixed with electro acoustic experimentation. Beautiful and fragile… Hopeless and bleak.
Release date February 18th on Breath:Stone:Bone:Blood and Wolves of Hades.
Thank you Invisible Oranges for these kind words.
